FUFA Women’s Cup 2025/26 roadmap revealed | 7th edition

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has unveiled the roadmap for the 7th edition of the FUFA Women’s Cup for the 2025/26 season.

The prestigious competition remains Uganda’s premier knockout tournament in women’s football. It brings together clubs from different tiers of the women’s game across the country.

Participation is mandatory for all 12 clubs competing in the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League as well as the 17 teams in the FUFA Women Elite League. Women’s football clubs from other levels across the country will also have the opportunity to take part after completing the registration process.

According to the FUFA Competitions Department, the roadmap begins with the registration of clubs on March 6, 2026. The registration window will run until March 27, 2026.

Clubs in the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League and the FUFA Women Elite League will pay a registration fee of UGX 100,000. Regional clubs will pay UGX 50,000, while non-league clubs will pay UGX 150,000 to complete the process.

Only clubs that fulfil all registration requirements by March 27, 2026 will be eligible to participate in the competition.

FUFA will conduct the draw for the 7th edition on March 31, 2026. The fixtures for the competition will also be released on the same day.

Since its inception, the competition has produced several notable champions. Olila High School WFC won the inaugural title in 2017. UCU Lady Cardinals FC followed in 2018 before Makerere University WFC lifted the trophy in 2019. The tournament was suspended in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After a three-year hiatus, the competition returned in 2023 with Uganda Martyrs High School WFC emerging as champions. She Corporate FC won the 2024 edition, while Amus College WFC head into the 2025/26 tournament as the defending champions.
