The FUFA Drum Match Day 5: Buganda, Bugisu, Teso win as Acholi and Lango settle for a draw

Buganda Province made a marvelous upturn in the group B of FUFA Drum competition after a vital 1:0 win against Kigezi Province away in Kabale at theMunicipal Stadium on Saturday 2nd June.

Viane Sekajugo who plays for Onduparaka FC in the Uganda Premier League was the hero when he scored the most important goal for his Buganda Province in the 42nd Minute.

Kigezi’s Ndihabwe David took the Man of the Match accolade despite his Province losing at home.

Buganda moved to the 2nd position of group B with 7 points ahead of Lango and Kigezi lying in 3rd and 4th places with 6 and 4 points respectively.

Meanwhile, in the same group Acholi Province maintained the lead with 11 points after drawing 1:1 with neighbours and rivals  Lango Province at Pece Stadium in Gulu.

Police FC’s Ogik Norman scored first for Acholi in the 10th Minute before Amuka Bright Stars FC Okwir Dickens netted the equalizer for the visitors Lango in the 58th minute.

URA FC’s midfielder Hudu Mulikyi of Acholi had the best game performance of the day and was chosen as Man of the match.

Acholi also preserved its unbeaten run on match day 5 in group B and is one of the Provinces with the biggest fans support.

Elswhere, Bugisu Province edged Busoga Province in Mbale with one goal from Vipers FC’s Alitho James who converted a penalty after he was fouled inside the goal area by Yunus Sabira in the 59th minute.

Alitho went on to win the Man of the match and still leads the score sheet with eight goals and helped his Province to jump to  the top position on 10 points but with a margin of one goal difference ahead of Busoga.

Teso is in third place regardless of  thrashing  Sebei Province 4:2 away in Kapchorwa, Kirinya-Jinja SS FC striker Musa Esenu scored twice for Teso, Okwi Simon and Sui Micheal netted the other two goals, while Arapkweita Aendrin and Chebet Eric scored for Sebei.

In the other Matches on Sunday 3rd June Rwenzori will host Bunyoro at Nyakasanga in Kasese, Kampala host Bukedi at StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo, West Nile play Karamoja in Barokoro Ground, Zombo and Tooro will be home at Buhinga Ground playing against Ankole.
