FUFA Big League: Kigezi Homeboyz move top as matchday 18 reshapes promotion race

Kigezi Homeboyz FC climbed to the top of the FUFA Big League table after securing a crucial 1–0 victory over Ntugasaze FC at Mityana Saza Ground on matchday 18.

The victory pushed Kigezi Homeboyz to 32 points from 18 matches, moving them ahead in the tightly contested promotion race.

Second-placed Blacks Power FC dropped points after drawing 0–0 with Iganga United FC at Iganga Saza Ground. The stalemate left Blacks Power two points behind the leaders.

In Mbale, Kataka FC boosted their promotion ambitions by defeating Onduparaka FC 1–0 at Mbale City Stadium.

Kiyinda Boys FC also secured an important 2–0 win against Nebbi Central FC at Betherm City Playground.

Meanwhile, Kaaro Karungi FC edged Young Elephant FC 1–0 in Kyenjojo to collect valuable points.

At Hamz Stadium, Wakiso Giants FC defeated Mbale Heroes FC 2–1 to improve their position in the standings.

Two matches ended in stalemates as Bunyaruguru United FC drew 0–0 with Soltilo Bright Stars FC at Nyamambuka Ground.

Earlier in the round, CATDA FC defeated Paidha Black Angels SC 2–1 at Bugolobi Coffee Grounds.

Standings after Matchday 18

Kigezi Homeboyz FC lead the table with 32 points, while Blacks Power FC follow with 30 points. Ntugasaze FC and Paidha Black Angels SC both have 29 points, keeping the promotion race tight.

Kataka FC sit fifth with 28 points, while Young Elephant FC have 27 points. Soltilo Bright Stars FC and Bunyaruguru United FC follow with 26 points each.

Kiyinda Boys FC and Iganga United FC both have 24 points, while Wakiso Giants FC moved to 22 points.

Further down, Kaaro Karungi FC have 21 points, CATDA FC have 19, Onduparaka FC have 18, and Mbale Heroes FC remain bottom with 17 points.

Paidha Black Angels SC and Nebbi Central FC both received deductions of two points and two goals.
