FTBFWSL: Joint Leaders Kawempe and She Corporate Face Tricky Fixtures in Intriguing Matchday 14 Action

The Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League continues this weekend with Matchday 14 featuring six fixtures across the country. The spotlight falls on joint leaders Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC and She Corporate FC.

Both sides sit level on 32 points at the summit. With the title race intensifying, every result could prove decisive. Six fixtures are scheduled across the weekend, with two matches set for Saturday and four on Sunday.

Saturday’s action will see title contenders Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC travel to Luzira to face She Maroons FC at the Prison Grounds. Kampala Queens FC will take on Olila High School WFC in Soroti.

She Maroons FC will be eager to secure their first win of the second round. They will likely rely on a compact defensive structure and look to strike in transition. Playing at home, they may attempt to slow the tempo and frustrate Kawempe’s attacking rhythm.

Kawempe, however, arrive in confident mood after an impressive performance last weekend where their wing play proved decisive. The Valley Warriors have shown a clear tactical emphasis on stretching the pitch. Jovia Nakogolo has linked effectively with Latifah Nakasi in wide areas. Their ability to create overloads on the flanks allows Kawempe to deliver dangerous balls into the box while the midfield unit works to maintain possession and dictate the tempo.

For She Maroons, limiting space out wide and remaining disciplined in defensive transitions could be key if they are to disrupt Kawempe’s attacking patterns.

In Soroti, Kampala Queens FC will aim to keep pressure on the leaders when they visit Olila High School WFC at Olila Ground.

Kampala Queens FC appear to be finding their rhythm, particularly in the attacking third. The integration of January additions Rinah Ariho and Loyce Komugisha has added variety in their forward play. Experienced figures such as Namaganda Zaituni and Kamiyati provide balance and composure in midfield. Catherine Nagadya continues to lead the attacking line effectively and remains a strong contender in the race for the golden boot.

Despite yet to register a win this season, Olila can still pose problems, particularly when playing at home. Much of their attacking creativity flows through Lotyang Mary. Her technical ability and vision allow Olila to launch quick counters when opponents commit numbers forward.

Attention will then shift to Sunday when four fixtures wrap up the weekend’s action.

Joint leaders She Corporate FC will play their first home game at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru when they host Lady Doves FC.

The Sharks have built their campaign on tactical flexibility and resilience this season. Whether through structured build-up play or set-piece situations, She Corporate have consistently found ways to secure results. Their January signings have injected fresh energy into the squad and improved both ball circulation and pressing intensity. Off the ball, they remain compact and disciplined, making it difficult for opponents to find spaces between the lines.

Lady Doves, however, will take encouragement from their recent result and may adopt a cautious approach. They are likely to focus on defensive organisation while exploiting spaces behind She Corporate’s advancing fullbacks during counterattacks.

At Mutesa II Stadium, in-form St Noa Girls FC will host Rines SS WFC in what promises to be a high-energy encounter.

Both sides have collected four points from their last two matches and rely heavily on youthful squads known for their pace and intensity. This fixture could develop into a tactical battle in midfield where pressing and quick transitions may determine the outcome. With both teams comfortable attacking in numbers, defensive organisation will be crucial.

Elsewhere, Uganda Martyrs High School WFC will take on Makerere University WFC at St Gerald’s Ground in Lubaga.

Both teams will seek a response after defeats in their previous outings. Uganda Martyrs, playing at home, may attempt to assert themselves physically and control the midfield battles. Makerere’s experience could see them focus on structured defending and quick attacking movements when possession is regained.

Meanwhile, Asubo Ladies FC, still searching for their first victory of the campaign, will host Amus College WFC at Kampala Quality Ground. For Asubo, defensive stability and improved decision making in the final third will be key if they are to end their winless run. Amus, on the other hand, may look to control possession and exploit gaps in transition as they aim to capitalise on their opponent’s struggles.
