FTBFWSL: Eight-Star Kawempe Shine As She Corporate FC Complete Double Over Kampala Queens to Keep Title Race Intriguing

Matchday 18 of the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League delivered thrilling action, with title contenders Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC and She Corporate FC reinforcing their positions at the summit. Both sides secured crucial victories, ensuring the championship race remains fiercely contested as the season edges closer to its conclusion.

With just four matches remaining, the tension at the top continues to rise. She Corporate FC is showing no signs of slowing down, keeping pace with leaders Kawempe Muslim Ladies in what has now become a straight two-team battle for the title. The Sharks remain firmly within reach, ensuring the race for the title potentially goes down to the wire.

Kawempe Muslim Ladies delivered a commanding performance at Kampala Quality Ground, registering an 8-0 victory over Asubo Ladies FC. The hosts controlled much of the game, setting the tempo and creating numerous attacking opportunities. Latifah Nakasi led the way with an impressive four-goal display, highlighting her sharpness in front of goal. Asia Nakibuuka added a brace, while Agnes Nabukenya and Sharifah Nakimera also found the net to complete the scoring. Nakasi’s outstanding performance earned her the Woman of the Match award, underlining her importance in Kawempe’s title pursuit. Head coach Ayub Khalifa praised his side’s intensity, discipline, and hunger, emphasising the need to maintain those levels in the decisive stages of the season.

She Corporate FC also delivered when it mattered, securing a 2-0 victory over Kampala Queens FC at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru. Jesca Namanda once again proved decisive, netting both goals to seal maximum points and complete a season double over Kampala Queens. She has now scored five times against them this campaign, having registered a hat-trick in the reverse fixture before adding two more in this encounter. Her consistency, sharp movement, and composure in key moments continue to drive She Corporate’s title ambitions, ensuring they remain firmly in the hunt.

Elsewhere, She Maroons FC claimed a 2-0 win over Olila H/S WFC at Prison Ground, with Jackline Adong breaking the deadlock before an own goal from Aseun Hellen sealed the result. 

In Masindi, Lady Doves FC and Makerere University WFC settled for a goalless draw at Katusabe Ground, where Namanda Margaret impressed in midfield to earn Woman of the Match honours. 

Amus College WFC and Rines SS WFC also shared the spoils in a 0-0 stalemate at Amus College Stadium. Agenorwoth Nestar was named woman of the match.
