Matchday Three of the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Elite League delivered competitive action across various venues over the weekend, with URA Ladies FC maintaining their perfect start to the campaign while Jinja United WFC, She Kasese SC, and Lira City Queens FC also registered important victories.
At King Oyo Sports Complex, Tooro Queens FC and Wakiso Hill WFC settled for a goalless draw in a closely contested encounter. Both sides created chances but were unable to find the breakthrough as they shared the spoils.
At Bunya SS Mayuge, Jinja United WFC edged UCU Lady Cardinals FC 1–0 thanks to a decisive strike from Ithungu Mary Jane. Her goal proved enough to secure maximum points for the hosts, while Naigaga Aisha was named Woman of the Match for her outstanding performance.
Another evenly balanced contest took place at Mbale City Stadium where Highway Ladies FC and Ateker WFC played out a 0–0 draw. Alice Mukodah Nangobi of Highway Ladies delivered an impressive performance and was named Woman of the Match.
At FUFA Technical Centre,Njeru, BUL WFC were awarded a 3–0 walkover victory after Goldstar Ladies FC failed to turn up for the fixture.
Action continued on Sunday with She Kasese SC recording a narrow 1–0 victory over PISGBC Queens FC at Nyakasanga Ground. Mary Kemigisha scored the all-important goal and was later named Woman of the Match for her match-winning display.
At Kigaaya P/S Ground, Buhimba Lady Saints FC bounced back with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Police Women FC to claim their first win of the campaign.
Meanwhile at Kakyeka Stadium, URA Ladies FC maintained their perfect start to the season with a 2–1 win over Boni Consili Girls FC. Cynthia Kirenga and Monica Namono scored for URA, while Beatrice Naluwooza found the net for the hosts. Kirenga’s influential performance earned her the Woman of the Match accolade.
Elsewhere at Gulu H/S Ground, Lira City Queens FC secured a narrow 1–0 victory over Pabo United WFC courtesy of a goal from Proscovia Acayo. Akanya Sumaya was named Woman of the Match after a solid display.
The results leave URA Ladies FC as the only side with a perfect record after three matches as the competition continues to gather momentum.
