Uganda U17 Women’s National Team head coach Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi is delighted with the progress of events as the team prepares to face Ethiopia in the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.
Kiyingi who has been in camp with the players for the last ten days is impressed with the significant improvement in different aspects and thus believes the team will be in perfect shape to face Ethiopia.

“I’m impressed with the progress so far. We have been able to work on several aspects and hoping that we can achieve more in the remaining days before the first game,” he stated.
The gaffer indicates emphasis has been put on movement on the pitch and the fitness of the players.

“We have put emphasis on movement of the players on the pitch both with and without the ball and then trying to work on their fitness.”
The camp was on Monday boosted with the arrival of five players who recently were part of the Uganda U20 Women’s National Team set up and the coach states these will bring a different dimension.
These include; Shakirah Nyinagahirwa, Hadijah Nandago and Phiona Nabulime all from Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC plus Catherine Nagadya and Joweria Nagadya from Uganda Martyrs WFC and Lady Doves FC respectively.
Uganda will host Ethiopia on 4th March 2022 at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende and the return leg will come in two weeks’ time.
