Captain Andy Mwesigwa in Camp

Captain Andy Mwesigwa joined camp on Sunday morning and urged the fans to show up in big numbers on Saturday at Namboole

Cranes Captain Andy Mwesigwa will be part of the team that trains this Monday morning at Mandela National stadium-Namboole.

Mwesigwa arrived in the country on Sunday morning and his presence is a big boost to the Cranes camp. Uganda plays Zambia on Saturday in the second leg of the final round of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Mwesigwa is optimistic that the Cranes can eliminate the continental champions from this tournament. “We respect Zambia as defending champions but on Saturday we shall be at par and the best side after the 90 minutes will prosper” said the Cranes Captain. “As a team we shall offer our best and it’s my appeal to fans to show up in big numbers” he added.

Isaac Isinde also arrived in the camp shortly after Mwesigwa. First choice goal keeper Denis Onyango was expected in the country last night. Patrick Ochan, Sula Matovu and Emmanuel Okwi will join camp this Monday while Henry Kalungi comes on Tuyesday.

The players currently available in camp include Abel Dhaira, Hamza Muwonge, Geoffrey Massa, Simeon Masaba, Dan Wagaluka, Moses Oloya, Brian Omony, Robert Ssentongo, Tonny Mawejje, Chrisestom Ntambi, Musa Mudde, Geoffrey Kizito and Hassan Wasswa. Others are Habib Kavuma, Isaac Isinde, Godfrey Walusimbi, Andy Mwesigwa, Mike Sserumaga, Hamis Kiiza and Edward Ssali.
