Two Ugandan officials Humphrey Mandu Watenga and Jamil Ssewanyana are some of the facilitators at the inaugural CAF regional safety and security workshop.
This workshop will take place between 2nd and 3rd December 2020 – via zoom with the theme ‘Promoting Stadium Safety and Security’.
Ssewanyana who is also the managing director of Mandela National Stadium, Namboole will handle the topic of ‘Ticketing and public access to the stadium’ on the opening day.


Mandu will facilitate on the topic of ‘Prohibited items – Pyrotechnics’ on the closing day.
Other topics of discussion will include; challenges of safety and security in Africa, stewarding, crowd management, planning for emergencies and contingencies like evacuation; Accreditation, zoning and zone control mechanisms, safety and security considerations under COVID-19, importance of calculating maximum safe capacity, among others.
The workshop will entail the national safety and security officer, premier league safety and security manager, CEO Premier League, CEO Second League as well as the second League Safety and Security Manager.
Abdul Lukooya Sekabira is the national safety and security officer, Gordon Roy Mundeyi is the premier league safety and security manager, Bainamani Bernard Bampaire (CEO Premier League), Aisha Nalule (CEO Second League) and Azed Mansoor Kimumwe is the Second League Safety and Security Manager.
