BUL Women FC Head Coach James Magala and Captain Nakiwala Shadia Alisson have expressed the team’s readiness ahead of their debut campaign in the 2025/2026 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Elite League, which gets underway on Saturday 18 October 2025.
In line with the FUFA Club Licensing Regulations 2025/2026, all Uganda Premier League clubs are required to operate a women’s football team competing in either the FUFA Women Super League or the FUFA Women Elite League. Through this initiative, BUL FC launched their women’s team, BUL Women FC, which will compete in the Victoria Group of the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Elite League 2025/2026.
The Eastern giants will travel to Soroti to face Ateker WFC at Soroti Sports Ground on Sunday 19 October in their opening fixture of the campaign.
The team has been gearing up for the new season with intense training sessions and several practice matches. They have further strengthened their squad with the addition of experienced players, including forwards Ritah Wanyenze and Hadijah Balinabyo, as well as midfielder Tracy Margret Balimweza, who is the younger sister of Crested Cranes midfielder Joan Nabirye.

Despite this being their debut campaign, seasoned coach Magala is confident that his charges can secure promotion to the top tier at the first attempt.
‘We have had a solid build-up to the season. The six practice games have provided valuable insight into our strengths and we are hopeful about our chances. We are aware of the challenges ahead, but our target is to top the group in our debut season and earn promotion to the top tier. We shall take each game as a final, and I hope the players replicate the performances displayed in the practice matches,’ said Head Coach James Magala.

Captain Nakiwala Shadia shared similar sentiments, expressing confidence in the team’s preparations and their determination to achieve promotion.
‘The technical team has done an excellent job preparing us for the challenge ahead. They have put us in good shape, and now it is up to us to double our efforts to ensure we achieve our target of promotion. We call upon our fans to rally behind the Eastern giants,’ said Captain Nakiwala Shadia.

BUL Women FC will face stiff competition from Ateker WFC, Gold Star Ladies FC, Pabo United WFC, UCU Lady Cardinals FC, High Way Ladies FC, Lira City Queens FC and Jinja United WFC in the Victoria Group. The team that finishes top of the group after a home-and-away format will earn promotion to the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League.
