Buikwe football fans will have to wait a little longer before top flight football returns to their area. According to the FUFA Vice President-FUFA Super League (FSL) Mujib Kasule, the stadium will only be opened after inspection by a team from the federation. Buikwe is the home ground of FSL side Vipers FC but the stadium was closed after FUFA deemed it unfit to host league games.
‘The stadium is still under renovation but yet to meet the required standards of hosting games. When it is completed, we shall send a team to carry out the inspection and make its report’ said Kasule
The clash between sets of fans for Vipers and SC Villa in the first round of the FSL also played a part in having the stadium stopped form using it. Vipers will continue to use St Mary’s Kitende Stadium as their home ground.
