FUFA has sent URA FC Assistant Coach, Sadick Wassa to Cairo in Egypt to undergo a special training session for the acquisition of the CAF ‘C’ License.
The Federation decision followed the resignation of the club’s substantive head coach Alex Isabirye who had already trained and acquired this qualification.
URA FC is the country’s official representative in this year’s CAF Champions League and it’s mandatory that all participating clubs are coached by holders of a CAF ‘C’ License.
In order to avoid likely negative consequences by the continental body, FUFA acted faster to bridge the gap since it wasn’t clear how soon URA would effect their professional replacement.
In a related development, FUFA wishes to remind individual clubs in the FUFA Super League that their technical bench MUST be headed by a holder of the same coaching qualifications. A decision has already been taken to act against any club that contradicts this directive starting the second round of the ongoing season. The second round starts February 1. Below is the full list of 55 Coaches in Uganda that meet this CAF requirement.
